The Jungheinrich Group's "Corporate Purchasing and Logistic Department" was created in 1998. Its task is to coordinate the entire purchasing process and to work together with all organization units to formulate company-wide standards (Material group management). The department also bears direct responsibility for sourcing selected commodity groups for the entire Group, such as batteries and attachments for trade goods and for services such as distribution logistics, IT hard- and software and travel management - from negotiating to signing the purchase order.
This does not, however, mean that the Corporate Purchasing and Logistic Department is in the business of centrally purchasing all production materials!
