Five times platinum in a row: Jungheinrich again named one of the world’s most sustainable companies

  • Jungheinrich is among the top 1 per cent of the most sustainable companies worldwide
  • EcoVadis acknowledges outstanding environmental performance and progress in the field of ethics
  • Top A rating from CDP and German Sustainability Award confirm top spot

Hamburg – Jungheinrich has been awarded the platinum medal for the fifth time in a row by EcoVadis, thus once again securing its position among the top 1 per cent of the world’s most sustainable companies. EcoVadis, the global leader for sustainability ratings has analysed a total of more than 150,000 companies.

“Receiving platinum status for the fifth time is both a confirmation and motivation: it confirms the effectiveness of our sustainability strategy. Scoring top marks in the field of environment and the clear progress made in the field of ethics prove that we always take our responsibilities seriously and are striving to meet our sustainability targets,” explains Dr Lars Brzoska, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG.

Highest rating for environment and ethics

EcoVadis assesses companies on 21 sustainability criteria in the four core areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The environmental performance of Jungheinrich was again awarded the highest rating this year. Jungheinrich has also made clear improvements in the field of ethics.

As part of the Science Based Targets initiative, Jungheinrich has committed itself to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 along the entire value chain (Scopes 1 to 3). Another factor in achieving the outstanding environment rating was the company’s comprehensive and transparent sustainability reporting. For instance, Jungheinrich provides its customers with comprehensive insights into the environmental impact of its product series through product carbon footprints.

In a year-on-year comparison, Jungheinrich has improved its overall score from 82 to 85 points. This places the company once again in the top one per cent of companies rated worldwide. You can see the current EcoVadis award using this link: https://recognition.ecovadis.com/8Soh8V63XUGsOdPbfwed_w

In addition to the recognition from EcoVadis, Jungheinrich was recently recognised twice more for its commitment to sustainability – this includes the German Sustainability Award and an A rating by the CDP for the company’s climate protection activities. Both awards underscore the consistency and effectiveness of the sustainability strategy.
