Climate top score: Jungheinrich receives the highest rating of A from CDP

Jungheinrich has been awarded the top score of A in the climate rating by the renowned international non-profit organisation CDP. This places the material handling provider from Hamburg among the world’s leading companies in the field of climate and transparency.

  • CDP confirms Jungheinrich’s role as a climate pioneer
  • Jungheinrich is among the top four per cent of leading global companies
  • Significant progress thanks to consistent implementation of the climate strategy

Hamburg – With this top score, Jungheinrich has reached a significant milestone and secured a place on the annual CDP leaderboard, which ranks global climate pioneers. In 2025, only four per cent of the nearly 20,000 companies analysed received this rating. The score of A stands for “leadership” and recognises companies that effectively reduce emissions and demonstrate this transparently.

Since its first participation in 2021 (B-), Jungheinrich has continuously improved its environmental performance. Following the B rating in 2024, the company has now achieved the top score of A, demonstrating the successful implementation of its climate strategy. Dr Lars Brzoska, CEO of Jungheinrich AG: “The CDP rating clearly shows how seriously Jungheinrich takes its responsibility in the field of sustainability. The honour of receiving the top score of A confirms our consistent course towards net zero and is both a recognition and an incentive for us.”

Jungheinrich pursues ambitious climate targets, which the Science Based Targets initiative has validated. The company aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1 to 3 by 2050. In 2024, emissions were reduced by 5.8 per cent compared to the previous year. One lever is the electrification of its own fleet, which is progressing worldwide in customer service. In Switzerland, for example, more than half of all customer service vehicles are already fully electric. By 2028, around 2,000 electric vehicles are planned to be used in customer service globally. In addition, Jungheinrich is committed to the circular economy, achieving up to 99 per cent reuse and recycling per vehicle in its reconditioning process.

Following the German Sustainability Award, CDP has now also confirmed Jungheinrich’s leading role as a sustainability enabler in the material handling industry.
