BaFin initiates review of Jungheinrich AG’s interim financial statements for 2025
The German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has initiated a review of Jungheinrich’s condensed financial statements as of 30 June 2025, and the related interim management report. Jungheinrich is in dialogue with BaFin and is supporting the review in a constructive manner.
The reason for initiating the review is the question of whether the valuation of the affected assets, in particular trucks for short term rental and inventories, in the condensed financial statements as of 30 June 2025, may have been incorrect due to the planned disposal of the business in Russia. The intention to sell may have resulted in a need for impairment, and without recognizing such impairment, trucks for short term rental and inventories in particular may have been overstated.
At the core of the review is the question of whether the impairment should already have been recognized in the first half of 2025. The review therefore relates exclusively to the timing of the impairment in connection with the disposal of the Russian subsidiary. This impairment was fully recognized in July 2025. Revenue and earnings in the Group financial statements for the 2025 and 2026 financial years are not affected by the review. The former Russian subsidiary has been fully deconsolidated since February 2026.
Jungheinrich has transparently informed the capital market about the ongoing sale process and the associated potential impairment since June 2025. After reporting on the ongoing sale process on 26 June 2025, and announcing the signing of the sale and purchase agreement on 21 July 2025, Jungheinrich stated in its interim financial statements as of 30 June 2025 that, as a result, an impairment loss, particularly relating to trucks for short term rental and inventories, is expected to be recognized in July 2025 in the high double-digit million range.
