Business Services Croatia continues to grow

Jungheinrich expands its software and hardware development site

Hamburg/Zagreb – Jungheinrich Business Services Croatia officially opened its new, significantly larger location in Zagreb yesterday. By expanding its excellence centre for software and hardware development in Croatia, Jungheinrich is meeting the growing demand for its digital solutions. By strengthening its Business Services Centres, Jungheinrich is driving forward a key initiative of its Strategy 2030+ to increase productivity and efficiency across the Group significantly.

Only three years after its opening, Business Services Croatia, Jungheinrich's competence centre for software and hardware development, is moving into new premises due to its enormous growth. Now, 750 square metres of office space are available for the current and future workforce. Furthermore, Jungheinrich is expanding its software and hardware development at the site by adding a testing area. Covering more than 500 square metres of test space, electronic components for Jungheinrich industrial trucks' energy systems will be developed and tested alongside software and hardware solutions. This includes fully automated testing of charging device parts as well as various modules used in battery systems.

Business Services Croatia was founded in 2022 to expand Jungheinrich’s expertise in automation and digitalisation and develop innovative solutions for mobile robots, control systems, and automated storage systems.

Dr Stefan Schneeberger, Managing Director, Jungheinrich Business Services Croatia, says: “We are very proud of the enormous progress of our Business Services Croatia over the past three years. Our expansion here is a clear investment in our future. We want to continue growing with the team here in Zagreb and establish further areas. This will enable us to work even more intensively, always to create forward-looking solutions for material handling.” The Business Services Centre currently employs around 60 people. The plan is to increase the workforce significantly in the medium term.

The targeted strengthening of Business Services Croatia contributes to two initiatives of Jungheinrich’s Strategy 2030+: Firstly, Jungheinrich is consistently developing its automation and digitalisation. Secondly, it drives forward an initiative aimed at expanding global Jungheinrich Service Centres to increase productivity and efficiency.

Around 100 guests attended the opening ceremony. The event was attended by representatives of essential partner companies and high-ranking guests from business and politics, including Marija Vukelić (Director for Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Ministry of Economy), Andreas Lang (German Ambassador’s Permanent Representative, German Embassy in Zagreb), Timo Pleyer (CEO of the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad), Gerhard Schlattl (Austria’s trade delegate to Croatia / Advantage Austria) and Prof Ivan Marković (Professor, Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb).
