One culture, many perspectives: How our Yellow Way is put into practice worldwide

What does it mean to work together as a team across the globe? During Yellow Month, we show how the Yellow Way brings colleagues together – across regions, cultures and time zones.

At Jungheinrich, the Yellow Way is our shared foundation. It describes how we work together – as a team, with customers and with partners. It is at the heart of our corporate culture and provides guidance for our day-to-day actions. At its core are four principles of conduct that unite us worldwide: we are proactive, open, efficient and committed.

But how does this ethos translate into practice in our day-to-day work? A look at our regions shows that the Yellow Way is more than just a concept – it is put into practice worldwide, in very different ways, yet always with a shared goal.

Voices from the field: The Yellow Way worldwide

It is particularly clear in international teams just how important it is to remain flexible and take local characteristics into account – whilst at the same time growing together as a global team. This is also evident from the different perspectives of our colleagues around the world:

Marta Janukowicz is holding a microphone and gazing into the distance. “I work in after-sales and with digital products, which means I operate across different worlds – I bridge the gap between customer needs, sales teams and IT. It’s not always easy to reconcile technical requirements, global collaboration and the actual needs of customers. The Yellow Way helps me to remain open and effective, and guides me through complex situations. It gives me a framework for bringing different perspectives together and finding the best possible solution.”

Marta Janukowicz, Digital Product Manager in Poland

“For me, the Yellow Way is very much present in our day-to-day work and closely linked to our culture. Openness means sharing ideas and feedback in a direct yet respectful manner – because without openness, there can be no trust. Proactivity is essential in such a dynamic market, where we are constantly reflecting, improving and going the extra mile. Efficiency is also crucial, as we are always looking for better ways to achieve more through the effective use of resources.

Adele Zhang looks straight into the camera and smiles.

‘We care’ extends beyond the team – it’s about how we interact with colleagues, customers and partners, and how we build trust and long-term relationships. It’s part of our mindset – not just for today, but for future generations too.”

Yellow Month: Bringing culture to life

Once a year, the globally focused Yellow Month brings all these perspectives together. Through a variety of formats, local and digital events, and plenty of international exchange, we create a programme that strengthens our corporate culture. The focus is on formats such as keynote sessions and short learning sessions. These provide insights into international projects, highlight best practices and make concrete experiences from different regions accessible to everyone. Many sessions take place virtually, enabling dialogue across regions and time zones. At the same time, there are local initiatives such as the “Random Lunch”, where colleagues who would not otherwise have much contact have lunch together. This year, too, Yellow Month featured a diverse programme of virtual and local highlights, in which over 3,000 colleagues took part.

One culture, many perspectives – a shared understanding

Whether in Europe, Asia or worldwide: the Yellow Way unites us. It is evident in our day-to-day collaboration, in our diverse perspectives and in the way we find solutions together. Yellow Month brings precisely this to the fore – and creates space to further develop our culture. Because ultimately, it is precisely this diversity that makes us stronger: as teams, as an organisation and as a global community.
