How can customers experience innovative robotics technology first-hand? With the mobile demo package for the new EAE 212a, JIG’s Uzair Mukadam bridged the gap between product development, sales and tangible customer benefits.
When Uzair Mukadam joined JH Robotics (Magazino) as part of the Jungheinrich International Graduate Programme (JIG), he worked on a project that combined two of his areas of interest: robotics and business development. The market launch of the autonomous mobile robot Jungheinrich EAE 212a was just gaining momentum. The team was looking for a practical solution that would allow them to demonstrate this innovative technology to customers and sales teams worldwide quickly and with minimal effort.
The EAE 212a is a key addition to the Jungheinrich Robotics portfolio. This autonomous mobile robot facilitates autonomous pallet transport between warehouse areas and makes it easier for customers to transition to more efficient and flexible material handling processes.
“The best way to convince customers of the added value is for them to see the robot in action, as this allows them to understand its benefits straight away,” Uzair was convinced from the outset. However, traditional demonstrations require a great deal of preparation and set-up work.
He therefore developed a mobile demo package. This enables Jungheinrich sales teams to present the EAE 212a within a few hours, either directly at the customer’s premises, at trade fairs or during roadshows. The package comprises hardware and software components, instructions, training materials and supporting documents. It aims to make the robot understandable, tangible and thus easier to sell.
The demo package supports the market launch of the EAE 212a and combines technological innovation with commercial success. The solution was used at trade fairs, customer events and international roadshows. It was subsequently introduced by sales organisations in several countries.

“The demo package enabled us to bring cutting-edge robotics technology directly to our customers and let them experience automation for themselves in just a few hours.”
Uzair took charge of the concept for the demo package.
He identified the requirements of international sales units, liaised with product management and engineering, and ensured that the solution could be deployed efficiently across different markets.
He developed manuals and training materials, organised sales roadshows and incorporated customer feedback into product development.
In doing so, he acted as a link between technology and sales. “Working with experts from product management, quality assurance, engineering, service and training gave me valuable insights into how new products reach international markets,” says Uzair, describing his experiences from the project. “For me, as a JIG participant, it was a unique opportunity to take responsibility for a specific business challenge and contribute directly to a strategic product launch.”
Uzair was particularly fascinated by the initial reactions of customers during the demonstrations and roadshows. “When the robot navigated autonomously, it sparked curiosity and fascination among the audience. This often led to spontaneous discussions about new automation possibilities,” he says, describing his observations. “It became clear to me that innovation is successful when customers recognise the benefits for their processes.” The demo package allowed them to experience the practical advantages first-hand.

“The most impressive moments were when customers saw the EAE 212a navigating autonomously for the first time and immediately recognised its potential.”
The project showed Uzair that successful innovation requires more than just a good technical solution. “Training, documentation, support processes and coordination between the departments involved are just as important for market success,” he concludes.
What else did he take away from the international project? “I was able to strengthen my project management skills, learnt to coordinate stakeholders more effectively and to translate technical topics into understandable language.”
The project thus perfectly embodies the core values of the JIG programme: personal responsibility, cross-functional collaboration, learning and, at the same time, making a tangible impact on the company. “For me, developing the demo package was far more than just a demonstration concept,” sums up Uzair. “Right at the start of my career, it gave me the chance to contribute to the roll-out of a robotics solution and to translate new technology into tangible customer benefits. This continues to shape my work today as a Partner Project Manager in the Jungheinrich Robotics portfolio.”
